Paul Spicer, an award-winning author and columnist, is known for lively tales of offbeat travel along with colorful characters and nightlife from the international stage. From food and spirits to art and entertainment, his work has graced the covers of worldwide pub- lications. He has served as a travel writer for North Star Travel Media, Weissmann Travel Reports, and International Living, while his food and drink reviews regularly appear in Brick Weekly, Patterson’s Beverage Review, and Karma Magazine. With tucked away island destinations serving has his subject matter, Spicer has also built an online community, www.islandlowdown.com, for adventure seekers to share their travel secrets and converse with local chefs, business owners, hotel owners, and fellow travelers. He is also the co-founder of Compleo, the makers of the iGO iWRITE application, the first ever collaborative travel writing experiment on Facebook.
Paul’s published books include the British Virgin Islands: A Hometown Lowdown Guide to Travel and Taste (2007), The Therapeutic Value of Creative Writing (2006), and Individualized Service Plans: Empowering People with Disabilities (2005). In addition, Paul has published a series of continuing education courses for DSW Fitness and IDEAS Personal Trainer Magazine. Paul also serves as a contributing editor for City Edition.
When not writing, Paul works as a marketing and public relations consultant, having served small, medium, and large sized clients in government, private industry, and the non profit sector. With a specialty in cause related marketing, Paul has worked on a wide range of initiatives, from political campaigns to international health care efforts, with a focus on disabilities, Baby Boomers, and assistive technology. He has been invited to speak to the Health Worlds Asia conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
